Imagine a school that’s full of wonder.
We’ve been high wonder, low tech since we first opened our doors in 1996. Click here to watch our school film to see for yourself.
At Trillium Waldorf School, reverence for the wonder of childhood underpins everything we do.

parent & child
Birth – Age 3
At Trillium, education begins in the earliest years with a pace that allows children to fall in love with the world around them. Our Parent & Child classes do just that while also nourishing your child’s first teacher – you! Join together in community to celebrate this beautiful phase of family life and to grapple with the challenges that early childhood can bring, too.
Through rhythm, connection and meaningful reflection families learn and grow together.

kindergarten
Ages 4 – 6
In Kindergarten you’ll find classrooms that feel like a second home and teachers who are deeply rooted in the understanding of what the young child truly needs. Days are spent in joyful imagination, exploration of the natural world and eating nourishing home cooked meals around the table. Songs, stories and meaningful activities honour this stage of development.

grade school
Ages 7 – 14
In Grades 1-8 our curriculum meets each new phase in a way that engages not only our students’ minds but their hearts. Our academics are interwoven with movement, games, arts, hands-on skill building and the experience of observation and discovery. Through rich classroom experiences, ample time outdoors and memorable field trips our students are not only engaged but are supported in learning to think critically and creatively for themselves.

high wonder
The capacity to marvel at the wonder of life is held dear at Trillium Waldorf School. This natural way of being in childhood is supported through abundant time outdoors throughout the seasons, hearing stories from around the world each day and through observing natural phenomena – be it how the mud puddle ices on a cold morning in Kindergarten or witnessing the chemistry of candy being made in Grade 8. The curiosity that is nurtured through this wonder for the world sets our students on a path of lifetime learning.

low tech
Our classrooms are rich with colour, beauty and things that have stood the test of time – be it storytelling and wooden desks, or chalkboards and cursive writing. While we use computer technology selectively in the upper grades, at Trillium you won’t find a screen in sight from Kindergarten through the middle grades. No matter what age, learning always begins one human being to another, rooted in the real world first. This supports our students in developing the critical thinking skills necessary to be truly ready to use the tools of technology when the time comes.
