How it all began . . .

Trillium Waldorf School was first established in 1996 by a community of caring parents who were concerned about the educational and societal trends at that time.

This determined and inspired group yearned for a local school that kindled their child’s imagination, encouraged critical thinking, and nurtured kindness, compassion, and social responsibility.

Fortunately, these parents were aware of Waldorf education because many of them had previously studied anthroposophy including the insights, teachings and principles of education outlined by Rudolf Steiner (the founder of Waldorf education).

In September 1996, our school began in a local church with 21 children in Kindergarten/Grade One.  Over the years the school moved to a church hall and then rented space at the Youth Music Centre, before moving to our current location in the north-east section of Guelph.

Our current home has been provided to us by an alumni family.  They purchased three acres of land and built our present building back in 2005, when their children were students here.  Our Landlord’s generosity has made it possible for us to continue to operate out of this beautiful building and location.  Currently, our 20+ Faculty and Staff serve 175 children from Kindergarten to Grade 8, as well as many families through our Parent and Child program.

But enough about us…!

We’d love to meet you (and your family).

The very best way to learn more about our school community is to visit us in person. Please visit us by joining us during an upcoming tour of our school (in a group or one on one) or by viewing our calendar and attending one of our upcoming community events or festivals.
